MPG Fitness is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Every session is built around individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, adapting in real time to the person in front of us.

3-Step Program for Individuals With Developmental Disabilities

Individual Assessment

Step 1: Consultation & Individual Assessment

Duration: 1–2 Hours

We begin with a comprehensive, no-cost consultation to understand each individual fully—physically, behaviorally, and personally, with specialized attention to the needs of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

What We Focus On:

  • Health screening and medical history review.

  • Current fitness level, mobility, and physical limitations.

  • Personal goals, preferences, and motivations.

  • Behavioral and communication needs.

  • Caregiver or support staff input.

  • Baseline measurements were appropriate.

What Happens During the Session:

  • One-on-one meeting with a certified adaptive fitness professional.

  • Review of medical documentation or restrictions.

  • Informal fitness evaluation (range of motion, balance, endurance tolerance).

  • Conversation around preferred activities and interests.

  • Creation of a personalized fitness profile.

Personalize program

Step 2: Personalized Training & Program Development

Duration: 8–12 Weeks (Ongoing as Needed)

We design and implement a fully customized fitness plan built around the individual’s needs, abilities, and goals.

What We Work Toward:

  • Improved strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance.

  • Better balance and coordination.

  • Development of functional, everyday movement skills.

  • Safe and effective exercise habits.

How Training Is Delivered:

  • 2–3 sessions per week (adjustable).

  • One-on-one or small group sessions with adaptive specialists.

  • Modified equipment and exercises tailored to ability.

  • Ongoing progress tracking and program adjustments.

  • Caregiver guidance for continued support outside sessions.

  • Positive reinforcement to build motivation and confidence.

Habit Build

Step 3: Ongoing Support & Habit Building

Duration: Continuous

We transition individuals with disabilities into a sustainable routine that supports long-term health, consistency, and independence.

What This Phase Supports:

  • Maintaining physical progress.

  • Preventing regression.

  • Strengthening routine and independence.

  • Encouraging continued engagement.

What This Includes:

  • 1–2 sessions per week on a maintenance schedule.

  • Monthly progress reviews and check-ins.

  • Seasonal updates to programming.

  • Opportunities for social fitness interaction.

  • Access to at-home or online exercise options.

  • Continued caregiver education and support.
